Eco-Cultural Tours Spend a day in the mountains and get to experience real family life in Costa Rica. Your day starts with a short boat ride across the river where you will be met by calm, gentle horses to take you up the mountain though beautiful terrain where you can see Toucans, Howler monkeys, blue morphs and an array of other spectacular wildlife and scenery.
Upon arrival at the first families home you will be greeted by the family with refreshing coconut milk and sweet coffee. After relaxing a while the family will be happy to take you on a short tour of their homestead and answer any questions you may have. You will then continue by horse to another family nestled in beautiful valley. There the family will greet you with more refreshments and take you for a nature hike over their vast property.
You
will return home to a sumptuous meal prepared by the lady of the house. This tour is by far the best value tour in the Sierpe area and most of the proceeds go directly to the families visited. This tour can also be modified to fit your budget.
A Slow Boat to Paradise Most boat trips from Sierpe are in high powered boats that rush down the river to your destination. We offer a leisurely trip down the river to enable you to see the wildlife and beauty surrounding you on your way to the Pacific ocean. Swim, walk or just relax on an unspoiled beach just before the point where river and ocean meet (Boca, or mouth, of the Sierpe). Enjoy the sweet water and white sands at this beautiful secluded beach. At the end of the day you will enjoy another leisurely trip back up the river and a detour through some of the most spectacular mangroves in Costa Rica. A picnic lunch is provided. Camping overnight is also an option.
We take a small percentage to cover the cost of the lunch on this Boca tour. Otherwise all the money goes to the families.
New ~ Violin Island Kayaking Take a boat down the Sierpe River to Violin Island, where you will be met by Greivin with his kayaks. Greivin will guide you through impressive mangroves and river channels, where you will see an array of wildlife and enjoy the beauty and peace of this unpopulated piece of the river.
